Moving the Machine into Your Building

Often times when machines are purchased these items are left in doubt. Invariably this stems from an assumption by the printer that all of these items exist, or will be supplied. On the other hand, the seller of the machine would like to provide as few of these items as possible. Thus there is not clear communication on all parts due to the expense involved and assumptions made. Who pays for these items is a function of the overall deal, and what is itemized in the contract. There is no right or wrong. However, these issues can cause great expense if everyone is standing around arguing about who should have supplied them while the press is being brought in. For example, if drip pans are desired under the press, you don’t want a rigging company sitting around drinking coffee at $500.00 an hour while the pressman is running around town trying to get a set made. Instead of the pans costing $100.00 they now will cost someone $600.00. With that in mind here is a simple list of items that should you should think about during the negotiation and planning phase of buying a press.
